Is your workplace killing you?

I have said this before, and I will say it again.  Your sanity is priceless.  If your workplace is affecting your health on a serious level, perhaps it is time to take that first step to a better way of life.

"Being exposed to chronic stress, on the other hand, contributes to depression, ill health and death"...

In our current economy, I unfortunately see a decline in the overall health of workers due to realities mentioned in an article about this topic in Time magazine found here.  So what can you do about it?  Explore many outlets for dealing with stress.  Of course you should include exercise in your daily routine and "eat right."  Beyond that, massage therapy can round out the counterattack on battling stress. And remember, your health doesn't respond negatively to stress itself, but how you react to it.

Massage eases low back pain in randomized controlled trial.

Seems obvious, right?  Well, how about some tangible evidence.  Read about the study the here.

.."The bottom line: 'We found the benefits of massage are about as strong as those reported for other effective treatments: medications, acupuncture, exercise, and yoga,' Dr. Cherkin said. 'And massage is at least as safe as other treatment options....'.

At LEAST as safe?  How about the fact that each year, the side effects of long-term NSAID use cause nearly 103,000 hospitalizations and 16,500 deaths by some estimates?  Do you want to risk your health in this manner, or do you think you would be better off trying the non-toxic route with massage therapy?
